Time2FixMe's Journal, 26 September 2016

Well the weekend has come and gone and here's my story:

Friday I allowed myself some Culver's cheese curds, the one item that has been at the top of my 'want' list. After a couple of low calorie days I was feeling a bit shaky and thought that would be an appropriate time for the extra calories. Normally I would have ordered a double cheeseburger and a large concrete mixer or two to go with them. Within the hour I had an, um, "accident" at the grocery store. Despite the humiliation it was confirmation that my body has already become accustomed to the good stuff I've been giving it after two short weeks. Was it worth it? Maybe. They were good and it got wanting them out of my system. Plus I was proud of the self-control I exhibited in ordering.

When I arrived at my parents house with my whole grain waffles and peanut butter I was met with questions and goodies galore - both of which I resisted. They were also out of my bottled water. :(

Saturday I started my day with my usual breakfast and was given some snarky comments. By evening I threw such a fit when they didn't want to go out to the dinner I'd been planning for weeks that I went to bed without anything. (This was not an unhealthy response to being denied the food but rather a protest of their actions). They didn't know how forward I was looking to it. See, I won't tell them about my weight loss until it becomes too noticeable to deny as they are the ones who damaged me the most by repeatedly telling me I was fat as a little girl (when I was far from it) and at times even making my weight an ultimatum for their love. My mom had gastric bypass and promptly gained 100 pounds back so I have a fire to prove to everyone that I have the willpower to succeed on my own!

The takeaway here was to bring even more food/water with me next weekend. I also started thinking ahead about upcoming special situations so that I could plan accordingly and have something more concrete to look forward to. In October I will have the local Fall Festival, a day trip, and an MS event at Biaggis and November will bring another MS event and of course, Thanksgiving. Knowing and planning for this will give me an incentive to eat at home and keep to my plan the rest of the time.

Sunday was pretty much back to normal. Woke up, mowed the lawn (most activity I've had since starting), watched the Colts. I did go over my calories slightly for the first time but I felt completely satisfied, not stuffed, and prepared to move full steam ahead.

I also ordered myself a running belt and can't wait for it to arrive! Not that I have any intention of running mind you, but because I use the inconvenience of storing my keys and phone as an excuse not to walk. With the nice weather lurking I want to get out and take advantage of it so hopefully this will make it more appealing.

Have a good week friends and thanks for listening!

Not sure what Culver Cheese curds are but if it is REAL cheese and not that processed cheese food chances are it can be included on your LCHF Program. if you want to pull this off and show them you can indeed shed the pounds you can do it with LCHF with very little willpower. After 9 months on LCHF I can honestly say I have not had the urge to have what one would call a cheat day. I will tell you honestly I did have a small piece of my daughters Birthday Cake in July and in August I had a piece of this wonderful Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip loaf I make and it was worth the little bit of carbs just to keep me motivated. I find this late in the game and down 101 pounds and thx to IF even on the 5 days we eat we usually get in a light breakfast around Noon (3 Free Range Eggs Omelet stuffed with an ounce of Feta and 4 or 5 Black Olives) and dinner around 6 or 6:30 (6 oz Filet, or Boneless Chicken Breast or Pork Chop with a cup of roasted veggies and a tossed Salad with Lemon and EVOO). You see you have to forget everything you know about eating and trust yourself to LCHF and the key is simply this "Eat when you are hungry stop when you are full" I never understood this philosophy at first because as a Fat Guy I was used to always stuffing my face, 4 or 5 times a day and I never really listened to my body when it would tell me I had enough. It takes about 6 solid weeks to understand this but once you do it's like someone turned the light on. Dairy, Eggs and meat and basically anything with low carbs will be what you live on and quite handily you can eat this way the rest of your life and stay fit and healthy forever. Start with 20 grams of carbs or less a day until you get close to where you want to weigh then it is ok to introduce more carbs daily like 30 to 50 grams per day. And once you have a complete handle on this you can go up as high as 75 to 150 grams a day just keep watch you aren't putting back weight you don't want to have. Like Nike says "Just Do It"! And if you need a cheering section I am here for you. And did I mention DietDoctor.com is FREE! Did I also mention today I bought a new leather coat size 44 and my last winter leather coat was a size 60. I also bought some new Levi's today size 36 waist with a 32 length and December 2015 my waist was size 54 not too shabby for an ex-fat guy! Oh I forgot my shirt I wore out today was size L and in Dec 2015 I was more comfortable in a 4XXXX! BTW any of you that feel you can't cut the mustard on this program let me know if you are in need of some used fat cloths I have loads and I have good fashion taste and they are yours for the taking but you will have to hurry because they are soon heading for the Good Will bin!

Hmm running belt..i have to google that. Way to hang in there. It doesn't matter how old we are, our parents still can push our buttons or make us feel 6 again. The last time I lost 60 pounds they said they could "really see it in my face" 😑 LOL

@Joe: Your story is so inspiring. You've come so far! The cheese curds are real but fried. I'm not quite ready to go all in LCHF but I am trying IF and liking it so far and am choosing only whole grains which is a BIG improvement. Thanks for the encouragement :) @NY: I chose this one but there are others: https://spibelt.com/shop/spibelt/the-original-spibelt/ I'll keep you posted on how I like it.

cheese curds are not good for lchf. They are "breaded". I LOVE them and had some from Long John Silvers last weekend, shame on me....
