I’m challenging myself to no sweets this week, that means no deserts, ice cream, candy, etc. I will try a “no added sugar” diet. Only exception is banana smoothie made with the concord smoothie mix because I think it will be the only thing I need to tide me over during this long week.. need to up my protein and more carbs less fat... not sure how to do that with less sugar but I’ll figure it out. I’m open to suggestions :-)

Stay strong, candies and processed sugar should be eliminated long term... it’s easier to lose weight when you have a lot of it to get rid of. Count your calories and ditch sugar and you’ll easily lose 2# per week. That’s 16# in two months!

Frozen blueberries are awesome substitutes for candy as well (in my humble opinion).

I would love to ditch the candy, we went to a play yesterday and my mother insisted on grabbing few bags of candy to take with us. I must of said no at least 3 times but what do you know she bought it anyways... so as we sit during intermission and everyone else starts snacking I caved. I was mad at myself but watching everyone snack was making me want it more. That’s the real challenge is going out and keeping good habits even if everyone else around is not. I don’t want to be the nagging one getting on everyone else’s case about making better food choices but I need to at least stick to mine!! Then when I got back home my fiancé had ordered pizza and wings which sounded good at the time but I am regretting having now because my stomach hurts today. Pizza has never agreed with me, not sure if it’s all the cheese or the dough itself. My daughter has celiac so anything’s possible. I avoid gluten mostly due to her not having it anymore. I always feel better when I don’t have gluten after a week or so.

Good idea on the frozen blueberries, I actually have some in the freezer because I had bought some on sale and didn’t want them to go bad!

My go to snacks are usually some lunch meat or a low fat cheesestick. I also like the dehydrated apple crisps.. they tend to curb my sweet tooth and are not that high in carbs. I’m not too crazy about peanut butter, I’ll have it with some Nutella but I try to stay away from that stuff cause it’s too good lol. I like to snack on pickles too. They always work when I’m trying to curb my appetite. I also love lemon or lime in my water or tea. I make a lot of iced tea because everyone in my family drinks it. I probably make 5 or 6 pitchers in a week!

I just brainstorm things that help me in a time of craving but are either no sugar or way less, such as sparkling water with fresh lemon/lime juice, or glass of low sugar kombucha, instead of wine. Spoon of peanut eaten slowly instead of chocolate . A wedge of lemon, something about the sweet tangi ness helps with sugar cravings. Also, I look up low glycemic fruits like the blueberries and stay away from high glycemic if possible (except for your banana smoothie of course! 😋) in my experience lowering carbs , eating bunch of greens and veggies, and upping heAlthy fats has helped me curb cravings. But as long as I don’t eat large amounts of carbs especially refined carbs or copious amounts of sweet potatoes, my fav, then I don’t get cravings - as bad. The only time I’ve eliminated cravings is on keto but it’s a pretty ‘regimented’ eating plan since eating off plan throws you out of Ketosis and you have to start over again. Hope this helps! Oh I almost forgot! APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FOR SURE- WORKS!. The slim n sassy Doterra essential oil has also helped me tremendously in curbing cravings. I did less than their recommendation and still got benefits.

Oh, ha, didn’t see the comments about PB or lime water . Btw, I use Eo’s for the emotional support as well and they’ve worked well for me. Digest zen is another Doterra blend that is amazing. Seriously, the other day I had stomach cramps and just dealt for 2 hrs on the couch, no idea what I ate, etc. then I remembered about digestzen and literally minutes later I was like, “wAit a minute, where did my cramp run off to?” I was telling my friend about it and she had the same experience days before (upset stomach from gluten sensitivity). It also helps me with gas n bloating. I also know of someone with ibs who uses it effectively. Just letting you know! 🙃

How do you use the EOs Jewelln? Do you put couple drops I. Water or apply topically? I have some young living oils such as Digize but haven’t tried it when my stomachs upset yet. When I get home from work I might.. I usually just diffuse oils and apply topically occasionally. I love oils but sometimes forget to use them or don’t have them with me!

Yes I take certain oils internally and use both the company’s suggestions as well as third party research to decide on how much, I generally take less than recommended and it still works. DigestZen, 1 -2 drops in hemp oil or coconut oil to dilute. Can also take with water but it floats and I find spooning it into my mouth (w/or w/out carrier oil ) and then drinking water is the best for me. My friend massages some on her belly and took one drop. My other friend w/Ibs I think does Doterra recommendations and has great success, like astonishingly so. Slim n sassy I sometimes add a drop or two to water but I make sure I don’t if I’ll be in the sun later(gets on my lips when I drink). Some people buy veggie caps and put oil in them and swallow. For emotional and mental support, I use frankincense, clary sage, ylang ylang, lavender, geranium, bergamot, pines and firs , other city ruses, vetiver(omg! Heaven), and going to start using copaiba again. I lost my other bottle and just bought one. I make roller bottles, diffuse them, put a drop behind my ears or on the back of my neck. For the emotional support, using small amounts but applying whenever I notice the stress or tension is when they work best. It’s subtle but weeks in I’ll realize that I’ve been generally happier, more relaxed, more resilient, worked longer or harder but didn’t get as tired, those ppl don’t bother me as much, no cramps or pms on my period, sleeping better, waking up reste, etc.

Skip the sweet smoothies (carby, and keep your sweet addiction high) and eat more hi-fat meat, fish, and nuts. Try intermittent fasting (12 hrs/day, to start.). This *will* help! good luck!

DIY roller bottles work really well for being able to keep in your purse and apply all day! Sometimes I’ll just bring a straight bottle of oil like clary sage or a Doterra blended bottle like balance(really good) if I run out of my blend. You can always look up what’s in the Doterra blends and make your own from the YL oils that are similar if they don’t have a comparable blend themselves. Btw, thieves blend/on guard really works for nipping things in the bud. It has never not worked for me if I use it as soon as I get soreness in my body or throat or I feel like I’m fighting smtg off. I haven’t been sick for as long as I’ve been doing that except once when I didn’t use it until already full blown (two years of not being sick except 1-2 day bouts of feeling like I’m fighting smtg off but never bad). Also! Got in a car accident this year, used EO’s first because they’re my go to. Worked well to relieve. Then decided typical anti inflammatories for pain would maybe work better . Eh sorta worked. Decided to try EO’s again (some internal) mostly topical in carrier oil self applied all over my body. Again, immense relief!
