Here goes the mind-games. I’m 173.2 lbs, up by 3.8 lbs since last week. Here is where it gets squirrely. I’m actually way under my weekly caloric expenditure. However, I went off the reservation Saturday and Sunday, yet even though Saturday was primarily a junkfood day, I consumed less than I burned. Here are the results—I either went down or stayed the same in performance for my Monday weekly workout. My sleep quality took a nosedive. My heart rate increased by 4 BPM. My ego took a hit. Common sense tells me that what I have gained is primarily water weight. I know better than to reward myself with the very thing I’m trying to overcome. It’s like a junkie being 10 weeks clean and celebrating by getting high. Hang in there. Back on the path to health.
