Now a week into my pneumonia, I'm still feeling underpowered; I get tired very easily. I went out with DH for brunch to celebrate his birthday. We shopped a bit at the summer sale downtown, then went to a bookstore and I hit the wall, thinking to myself, "OK, I can do this only if I can find a chair." So, I sat while he browsed. Soon we headed home and that was my biggest outing in a week. This is going to be slow going. I'm definitely not up to speed yet! Also the weight loss has stalled, and no wonder, I'm sitting on the couch all day! Ah well! It's hard to imagine teaching next week; I'm not there yet.

Pneumonia is a hard one - I had it in January and I was off work for at least three weeks - Rest is key. If you don't you just seem to get sicker. Hope you feel better soon. :)

Thank you everyone. I feel guilty for not showing up at work! I may just have to get over that though.

I had pneumonia in Feb that turned into ARS. Do not push yourself too hard. Your body needs to heal!

Be patient with yourself. It is going to take a while for you to get over this bug. Time for TLC!

Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep. Sleep on the couch during the day and on your bed at night. Fastest way to fast and rest. I slept 10 - 12 hours a day my first bout with pneumonia. I was 29. Temp 104, couldn't walk from couch to toilet without running out of breath. Since then, whenever I get too stressed/run down, I get pneumonia again. Last bout was in 2011.

I agree with all the good advice to give yourself time to rest and heal. You'll spring back soon and be right back on track!

Oh you poor thing. I have been down that road 7 times. The last 2 landed me in the hospital. Time, plenty of fluids and rest. Don't push yourself and sleep often. Feel better.
