Going on day 3 of being smoke free! First day was a nightmare- I was an emotional mess! Yesterday was day 2 and I ate whatever, whenever... Today is day 3 and I feel a bit normal, not cranky, not irritable either, that is good! Supposed to be eating only once a day, but honestly, it's a bit much to do today, so been sticking to LCHF today. I just ate 3 eggs scrambled with a half pound of hamburger and it did the trick. I will probably go back to the once a day meal plan after I'm completely detoxes from nicotine. But... I'm very proud of myself for sticking to quitting!!

Sorry little buddy...been away for a bit....good luck and mentally sending you support on your no-smoking journey. Such a hard thing to do, but so worth it for so many reasons! To quit now while you are still young is worth SO MUCH both in years gained, costs saved, health and quality of life gained. Google "Yul Brynner smoking" to get a perspective on what us older folks have to say to our younger selves. Take care and good luck!!

Good going, Smarty!! I recommend you stock up with some celery sticks -- gives you something to put in your mouth with very few calories, and the crunchiness helps with some of the cravings.

I remember when I finally quit smoking - it took several tries, I'd quit for awhile & then start again. But when I made it 6 weeks I knew I finally had it beat. I chewed bubble gum, it really helped! Also, think of the money you'll save when you stop buying those nasty things - enough for a new wardrobe, I'll bet!

Great job!!! I just quit Jan 4th of this year. I know how hard it can be. Try to find something to keep your hands busy. I found that helped. Keep up the good work!!! Remember...You Can Do It!

I stopped many years ago. I made a calendar spreadsheet and marked off the days. I still do, though not every day. Presently I have been stopped 6030 days. If I went to the doctor and he told me I had 3 months to go, the first thing I would do is buy some cigarettes! Even after all this time!! It was not that difficult when I stopped but I still consider myself "between cigarettes".

Great job there, Smarty. I think in the end, if you can do this, many things will change for the better, like sleep, and a healthy lifestyle. People seriously, underestimate the damage, that smoking does to a person. Both my parents smoked, and lost their teeth in there late 40's. My mother cried for a week, after she lost her teeth, and said she aged 10 years in her looks overnight, and she was a beautiful lady. Dentures absolutely SUCK! They do have alternatives now, but keeping your own teeth is important. Teeth cleaning is extremely important too. I get my teeth cleaned ever 3 months. Not to be your dad here, but these things make a difference. Good luck!

Thank you all my FS community, I had a gain of about 5 lbs in 3 days... Whoa, it's really hard to stick to the diet, was feeling just out of it, ate too many things that were bad all day and night long. I can do this. I was feeling so good until my mother noticed I put on weight, it was very discouraging!!
