I feel like I can conquer!! Been strictly LCHF for 1 and a half days and broke a 2 year plateau! I told my hubby the great news and his stone age reply was "are you sure that's a healthy diet?" So I automatically got defensive and told him CNN.com cover story a few days back was "Mediterranean wins for long term diet" and I went on explaining how meats, fish, vegetables, olive oil, cheese, butter, even wine was the winner (I omitted the part where they ate rice).... It convinced him! Now the real test is when he gets home on Monday... Can I keep it up? Will I fail? I have to remember to Stay With it, no burritos, no carbs!! I can do it!

You can do this with or without your husband. I understand completely, but it does make it more difficult. You will be Ok with it.

Thanks Warren, yes you're right, I can do this... I've been mentioning to him on every phone call how I'm "not eating carbs" or that "I can't eat that" and it's slowly creeping into him that this time I'm serious about my health. Did you get your Masters in Education?

Yes, good guess!

Must have been a lot of work getting your masters in education! Do you miss teaching today?

NO! lol I miss the kids, but teaching is a very stressful profession. I really enjoyed my last ten years.

When I go back to visit, all I hear from the teachers is how awful the job has become. It is a stressful area.

I did 36 years, and was given a "golden handshake". Every employee is the district was offered it.

What's a golden handshake?

Hi BC, by the way, I've been using distilled water for the past few days, u know, I can really feel a difference! That was one huge change in the household but I feel the water tastes better and I feel better!

I like the carbonated water, like Talking Rain. A "golden handshake" is a package of retirement money to encourage you to retire. They would rather hire two teachers for the price of your end of career salary.

That's messed up to do Golden handshake but then LAUSD has had its ups and downs lately. Did you accept it? I still drink my 1 Diet Coke a day, I love the caffeine and the carbonation
