I concidered Atkins, but I need something i can do with out affecting my entire family- Calorie count works, and it seems to be working!

"I need something I can do with out affecting my entire family..." Couldn't your family stand to eat healthier? They wouldn't have to eat low-carb just because you were. All I do is make sure I prepare food where the starch is separate from the protein/veggies. Last night we had homemade hamburgers, & I ate mine wrapped in romaine lettuce instead of bread. If calorie counting is working for you, then by all means stick to it, but don't exclude your family from healthy dietary changes.

OH dont get me wrong, everyone has benifited from my Calorie counting- we are all eating smarter, healthier now. I just meant Atkins is not suitable for children and if we all arent on the same page I will not be as successful- and I dont want to start a "diet" that has an end... i want to be healthy and fit from now on. Atkins is not something I would do FOR EVER I know this about myself so Why set myself up to fail? Its not for me- Ive seen it work wonders with friends and extended family, but as soon as they stopped following the diet all the weight came back on. Thats the last thing i want IF a person was committed to it and it was their new way of life for ever, then yes it would be very effective. Just isnt for me!
