debrafrederick's Journal, 08 August 2023

Today I am playing DJ for my sick hubby, finding him music he loves from his country roots. I had not heard this one for many years but it used to be one of my favorites and to me it is inspirational:

Chris Ledoux - The Ride

https://youtu.be/Fe2dzgdrfC0

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high. Keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky. Live like you ain't afraid to die! And don't be scared, just enjoy your ride.

Ya'll have a great day!

That is so sweet of you! How's the hubby doing?

He's tired, wrung out like a dirty dishrag, but up and moving about a bit. It's hard to keep him stationary, but he's parked again for now, hopefully he stays off the tractor while I am at work, he really feels like the needs to knock the hay down in those pastures before some unfathomable time frame he has in his head!

Hope he gets to feeling better. My hubby is the same way. When Covid first hit, I was scared to death! I watched it unfold in China & their extreme measures via videos. I refused to let him work. I actually told him that I would move out. FOR REAL! I visited family and friends through my bedroom window like a drive-thru. 🤣 Anyway... while out of work, he actually dug a 10x10x10 root caller with only a shovel. He cut down trees to use for a frame & used bamboo for walls & shelves. If he ever gets to the point that he can't work, it will literally kill him!

Yeah, those builder men, I can relate, I like creating things too. So I still have no symptoms, he was exposed Wed and had symptoms by Saturday evening. I checked with the Powers that be at the PO for current protocols. If I don't have symptoms, I go to work, masked and gloved. If I get symptoms, I go home immediately. I got no symptoms so off to work I go! I am actually feeling pretty energetic today, which is good, because I am going to disinfect the post office just to make my customers feel better about coming in. They said they don't require quarantine for workers with sick family members any longer.

Looks like times are a changin' with the virus. I don't fear it like before, but I still respect it. I no longer wear masks unless they are required, etc... Glad you have no symptoms so far, but I've heard it could take up to 2 weeks. I hope you remain unaffected. Have a great day at work, sis!

Gosh, sorry to hear about this Debra. We"ve had it here, but it was about the level of a bad flu. We're vaxxed, so probably that helped keep it under control. I wish you both well through the virus.

I now have Covid, my first time. Spent 3 hours in the ER, they were trying to admit me because my blood work was skewed, until I explained to them that I had just come off of a 3 day fast and yesterday I had no appetite so I did not eat when I was supposed to, so I had two days of refeed and and another 24 hour fast prior to them taking blood, BP was high. 1 Had a fever, 2 had a massive headache 3 I was in a hospital. Hell yeah my BP was gonna be high. I had all kinds of weird liver enzymes running around in my blood...which Doc said can be explained by Extended fasting.

I haven't had it either unless it was asymptomatic and off my radar. Hoping for you that your journey with covid is mild and that your bodies immune system is strong. Take care !

I was surprised, he actually looked at my fasting app, my BP tracking app and my body tracking app on my phone, and he confirmed that I was definitely not diabetic, my BG was at 84 and my A1C was at 5. He seemed to know a bit about therapeutic nutritional ketosis, but I told him that he needed to speak to the patient before recommending hospitalization. They let me go 15 minutes later with prescriptions for z-pak and steroids....so FY! for you fasters out there, make sure you have your backup documentation on your WOF (way of fasting) if you end up in the ER as your blood work does not make sense to the Sugar-burner medical community.
