CatHerder's Journal, 22 March 2015

Been on a mini-vacation to Pigeon Forge, TN. My diet kind of went off the rails due to eating out for every meal for several days. Too many carbs and associated water weight. Still trying to work it all off although it will probably take a week.

Yesterday was a nice day so I went for an hour long run/walk in the park. I got my 10,000 steps in. It was very nice to get outdoors after all of the rain. Today is the trainer day this afternoon. It should be fun although I'll probably be exhausted. Tomorrow after work I mow the yard which will be my workout.

I did get a treadmill for my home. This is to allow me to walk during work breaks. Trying to fit in more activity during the day and not just relying on my hour evening workouts.

Cathearder, I love the Smokey Mts. and we try and visit at least a few times a year. Its ironic but I believe my winter weight began to pack on around Thanksgiving, we spent almost a week around Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg, and had our thanksgiving meal at the Apple barn. I just love that area but its soooooo easy to pack on pounds. I wouldn't trade a lb. I had gained during our fall break with my hubby and my daughter we had the best time and made some great memories to boot.

Was Pigeon Forge nice? We belong to BlueGreen timeshare and they have a place there - we have the smallest possible number of points to spend though...

Not only do you have Pigeon Forge but a few miles away is the town of Gatlinburg and next to that the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We have a time share too but its in Gatlinburg . All I can say is the area is enchanting. But if you don't have a full week to spend go from Sun - Thurs it so much less crowded All weekends are very crowded with tourist and the locals less of a crowd in the winter time after the holidays.

Pigeon Forge is a little too much touristy for my tastes. We were there to see the quilt show and get a short break away. Since it was mid week the traffic wasn't too bad and we were able to move around. It was just good to get away. We are going to the Smokey Mountains in October, staying in Gatlinburg. That should be really nice.
