Well it has been some time since I last actually wrote anything here, so I thought I would just jot down a few thoughts. Overall the biggest issue I have had in January is sickness - Just a lousy cold that turned into an upper respiratory infection and then just lingered. It has been about 3 weeks of just feeling "not good". I don't feel bad, just not healthy. It has made working out a chore and eating right difficult (when I'm sick I just kind of go crazy). I have done alright with my weight during this time.
I have a 5k on Valentines day. I am excited about it. This is my second since I started getting back into shape in August. In November I ran my first one - I weighed 233; I am 218 as of this week. 15 lbs should make the 5k easier.
I should reach the weight goal that I list on fatsecret before the end of February. I am going to set a new goal. That will be 195. That is the upper limit for BMI statistical normal for me. Before the firestorm erupts regarding BMI - I am very aware that it is not a useful measure for an individual. However, it is as good a goal as any. If I decide that I don't like how I feel or look, I will stop. My doctor has asked that I slow my weight loss from an average of about 2 lbs per week to 1 lb per week. Once I hit my 216 goal, I will increase my calories somewhat to slow the weight loss.
Have a good February - hug the one you love. Especially yourself.
