Anyone here ever suspect high protein supplements as the cause of a skin rash or histamine reactions. Like unexplained itchy skin and temporary red rashes?

Only thing I ever experienced with protein powder from the 90s was nausea and vomiting from how disgusting it was before more modern artificial sweeteners lol

Thanks Fritz and Di! Think I’m going to get back to ALL natural versions of protein for a minute to see if this might be the cause of me needing Zyrtec on a daily basis. Some strange side effects from this product are available on line if you are a sometime daily user….

Almost always too much of anything and an individual can O.D. and get rashes, hives, itchiness, etc. IK bc I'm allergic to most everything and I am kinda sensitive too. Really, only one protein-drink should replace only one meal per day everyday. One should not use them throughout the entire day. Vegetables & fruits are needed also. Never eat too much of any 1 thing.

Quality of the produce does matter as well. Here I see people posting how they found titanium standard protein for 2$/lbs and it even got 60% of protein 😂. Not saying that's your issue, but stating that quality and lack of toxins does matter. Now, sadly, if something in one of your products has caused you an allergic reaction, switching to a different product might not help as your body might have indeed learned to react to the stuff it comes with, in this case your protein. Obviously, this only applies to allergies. Depending on how much you have consumed (sorry, didn't check), a blood panel might be in order to see if some organ is not liking the overload.

Ok, barking at the wrong tree here. I did go and check, you are using a good quality supplement and in small amounts. OD is not the issue here. The only thing I wonder if still wanting to guess that the product might be at issue, it is processed (hydrolyzed) whey. I might myself switch to a basic isolate with no flavoring to see that whey itself is not the issue.
