Sarah1950's Journal, 17 December 2019

On Friday I had to see an Opthamologist who is a retina specialist. My optometrist found a bubble on the back of my eyeball and referred me to the retina specialist to get injections in my eye to relieve the fluid. Let me tell you the medical profession continues to find ways to persecute us. Mind you, it did not hurt, and I am forever grateful that my vision might be spared, but man o man, what barbarism next. I have to go back every 4 weeks and let her do it again. Good golly, miss molly.
The diagnosis is something very close to wet macular degeneration. The marvels of modern science. 😎👁

👁 balls...... the one thing that puts me over the edge. I don’t know why, maybe because I know the anatomy of the eyeball and that our iris is actually 🕳 and all the thick fluids. Wigs me out. I am glad it wasn’t painful ♥️ Are you on medication that can affect your eyes?

Better then dry macular degeneration. Glad it didn't hurt. I couldn't imagine somebody sticking a needle into my eye!!!

I remember waking up one day an couldn’t see anything but a white fog I was so afraid so I know about anything to do with the eyes I changed my diet completely an my vision was restored. With Diabetes that’s one thing that scares me is the needle in the eyes thank you for sharing . You are so brave .

Thanks for your comments and well wishes. I go again on Friday for Round 2. I am Type 2 Diabetic, but not sure about meds. Just had my blood checked and my A1c dropped from 6.7 to 6.0. I’ll see my PC next Monday.
