Yellow Split Pea Soup

Thick and satisfying split pea soup.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Bring split peas and water to a bowl, strain and rinse.
  2. Return peas and 8 cups water to the pot and bring to a bowl once again.
  3. Lower heat and simmer for two hours, stirring occasionally. Add water if necessary and to preference. If you like thicker soup, let some of the water simmer off.
  4. Add seasonings, chopped onion towards the last 15/20 minutes of cooking.
