Sesame Noodles

Whole wheat pasta with toasted sesame seeds tossed in a delicious Asian sauce.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions and drain.
  2. If your seeds aren't toasted, you can toast them in a 350 °F (175 °C) oven for about 6-8 minutes while your pasta cooks.
  3. Place the garlic, sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  4. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Pour the sauce over the boiled and drained pasta, add the sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and mix thoroughly.

Very light in salt. I would use Himalayan Salt, s9ince it has nutrients, and not as salty.

A whopping nearly 1500 mg Sodium per serving. An entire day's quota if you're following the Dash Diet for lowering blood pressure. Looks delicious, though.

Great recipe, I also cut the vinegar and while I have the cuisinart out I chop up some ginger root for it too. My old catering boss would add oyster sauce to this as well. Thanks, Cheers.

Quick and easy. Tastes great. Agree with one poster and will cut some of the vinegar next time but will definitely be making again.

I made it with rice noodles. I will try the wheat pasta next and probably cut some of the vinegar out. Over all it was pretty good.

Sooooooooo good!!! I cooked a whole lb of whole wheat spagetti for my whole family so adjusted the sauce accordingly. Next time I will use much less sugar but the best one ever!!!

Add some Tofu to the sesame oil/soy sauce mixture and exchange the sugar with either fructose or leave it to make it into a GI-diet meal.

One word: fantastic! Easy to prepare, wonderful to devour. This is one of my wife's favorites now as well and I find that I am preparing this meal a couple or three times a month.
