I am not sure where to begin! I am a Registered Nurse, a married mom of 5, two youngest ones are still at home. I am someone who has always been 10-20 lbs overweight most of my life. I've had stretches where I was right where I wanted to be, but it didn't last long. I run between a 24-25 BMI, so I know that's in the normal range, but I really want to hang around 21-22 BMI. I feel more comfortable there.
My wake up call was when I hit a 27 BMI 2 years ago. That was the only time I had been that heavy except for pregnancy. I was 50 and none of my clothes fit. I didn't feel good about myself, and hated looking in the mirror. Bathing suits? Ha! Forget about it!
So, 2 years ago I went on FAT SMASH after seeing Celebrity Fit Club with Maureen McCormick/Marcia Brady. I grew up with her on the Brady Bunch. She was my age, height and weight. She lost 30 lbs, and I thought if Marcia Brady could do it, so could I!!
I was successful in losing 24 lbs in 3 months. I wanted to lose 10 more. However, I stayed at that weight for about 3 months, then the holidays came around and I gained back 3 lbs. Ok, I could live with that, I told myself. Slowly over the next 2 years I gained back a total of 10 lbs, and decided I better take back control of my life.
So, here I am...back in the trenches. I've successfully gone through Phase I, and am here after 2 weeks of FAT SMASH losing 8 lbs. I'm within reach of my former weight loss now, and going for broke! I want to stay healthy!! I feel so much better when I eat right and exercise regularly...
Over the last 2 years, I have found so many great recipes for Phase I & II of FAT SMASH, that if you would like some suggestions, don't hestitate to email me.
Now, I'm going to GET SMASHIN'!!!

Can you drink protein shakes in phase one
If you are going strictly by FAT SMASH (not sure about Extreme FAT SMASH) then it doesn't have protein shakes in the list of items you can have in Phase I. If you've read the book, it tells you to eat more often...NO meal skipping...
I was not a breakfast eater when I started FAT SMASH 2 years ago. I would always skip breakfast. Since 2 years ago, I never skip meals, and it has really helped with staying away from tempting foods. Try the breakfasts they suggest: A bowl of hot Oatmeal (I love this now!...I add cinnamon and splenda.) or try veggie egg white omelets. (I use veggie shreds instead of cheese.) There are recipes on this site, such as Cinnamon Oatmeal pancakes you can also try. Here is a website that many on this site have said helped them through Phase I:
