Lost so far: 1.0 lb

Current Weight

Performance: losing 1.4 lb a week

Goal Weight
175.0 lb
Still to go: 31.0 lb
I teach science at an alternative high school in Milwaukee. I was married this past March 27th and thought that the wedding would cause me to lose weight. I was wrong. The stress and lack of time put another 10 pounds on me.

I was skinny my entire life and was very active in sports. I played NCAA softball, rugby, and women's pro football. However, over the past 10 years I have found that I have gained about 10 pounds a year, so my lean 125lb figure is now 205 pounds. I still have a good amount of muscle mass, but I really want to get my weight down so that I can be healthier and wear what I want!!!

Um...I originally hail from the Southside of Chicago, so I am a big White Sox and Bears fan. I live in a highrise condo downtown and absolutely love that lifestyle. I have no kids and it is going to stay that way. I do have 2 cats at home and a few pets in the classroom for the kids. I love music...mostly rock and country, I read every ngiht before bed, and I am very comfortable with silence.

@k8yk-

Have you heard of Isotonix? All of their supplements come in liquid form for easy absorption. My friend sells for Market America and swears by their products. I have noticed a difference in her. I just placed an order because, frankly...it makes sense, at least my minor in chemistry makes me believe that it makes sense.

Of course I agree with you about trying to get all your nutrients via food, but this might ease your mind about taking a supplement when you feel that you might need it.

Fat Secret no longer tracking Weight Watchers Points !!
I was on WW years ago and while it did help lose weight, I found it limiting and eventually gained the weight back plus. We have to learn how to eat and just stick with your RDI and percentages of carbs, protein, and fat.

The past 3 weeks I have been staying near my RDI range (sometimes over, but usually just under) and I am trying to stay at 40% carbs, 30-35% protein and 25-30% fats (healthy fat, of course). You also have to watch the sodium (RDA is only 2400mg/day) I have found it a lot easier than when I was using points and making me conscientious of what I am actually putting into my body.

I urge the WW peeps to give it a try. You may find that you like it better than counting points!

Oh, and it is FREE!!!

How to nutritionally count marinades?
I made an AWESOME seared tuna steak last night and was adding the ingredients for the recipe. However, most of the marinade was discarded and not eaten. I'm wondering how people count marinades when entering food into their food diary...

Thanks!

This article might help. I tried to post it a few minutes ago, but my post needed approval. Not sure why.

Favorite breakfast?
I only ate breakfast once a week before and my favorite was:

My before would be corned beef hash, hashbrowns, fried eggs and pancakes...preferably from IHOP!

Now I have carnation instant bkfst no sugar added during the week, but on the weekends I make my own egg mcmuffin with Thomas' Better Start English muffins, canadian bacon, and 2% cheese. Tis is the nutrition line on it: 253kcal | fat: 10.95g | carbs: 24.98g | prot: 17.84g

I'm sure it is WAY healthier than my IHOP breakfast.
