i've always been terrible at losing weight. no matter how little or how much i eat it never seems to make much difference. my hair falls out before the pounds drop off. i've been there as the fat girl with an eating disorder. now i just want to be healthy and slim and happy

Veggies For Breakfast
most days, i'll grab an apple for breakfast (while rushing out the door!).
fruit is great in the mornings.
i definitely think i wake up with a sweet tooth though!
celery and carrots are nice in the morning, lovely and fresh-tasting. a salad for breakfast can actually be quite nice!

Addicted and Insomnia
Yoga, meditation, and a "Hypnogogic Vibration" cd on repeat really helped me.
I've given up caffiene completely before - have a total detox week or two where you only drink water and unprocessed foods and your cravings could well go away.

Scale won't move!!
gain is probably just muscle build up - if you use one of the bmi machines you find in gyms and larger chemists it will give you your muscle density and i'm pretty sure you'll see this go up. it's just proof you're working hard!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
every morning, though as others have said the constant fluctuations in weight when you weigh daily are annoying and off-putting. it's easier to see real progress weighing weekly so i guess that's probably the best way, it's much more encouraging.

Getting really disillusioned
exactly the same thing happened to me when i last tried to lose weight - i reached a point where no matter how little i ate and how much i exercised, my weight would not go down. (2 years ago now with the same start and goal weight, tragic!)
i have since learned that you gain water weight from not eating enough, or eating too many carbs or sugar. i think too much salt can also cause this too.
i'd recommend looking to see if you've changed much in your eating recently - are you eating less or eating different things? - and then go back to how you were eating when you were losing weight.
and most importantly, don't get disheartened and give up like i did!
good luck.
