One of the most amazing things about this site that I have noticed is the constant attacks on the Atkins diet. What in the world is so wrong with a diet that advises you to give up white flour and sugar? You are allowed unlimited meat but unless you are a sumo wrestler,it is hard to consume a lot of meat. The problem is basically the medical profession doesn't want to re-examine the findings. It basically puts the food pyramid on its head. Don't forget people that the study of the effects of food on the body AS A SCIENCE is not even 100 years old!! They are at this time re-examining whether cholesterol is truly "bad", some researchers think it may be possible that it is the bodies reaction to the effects of heart disease, rather than the cause of it. It is very profitable industry, the weight loss industry. You do yourself a disservice by accepting mainstream ideology. Question your info and research. And no it is not muscle mass that is lost. Years of research at the Atkins institute have substantiated that fat is lost. Just wanted to get this off my chest.

Trying ro get motiviated can be so hard, It has helped me to read some of the posts on this site.
I think what I have seen so far in terms of success is people who are achieving their goals are learning to overcome their problems whether it be due to diabetes :0) or other pyhsiological disorders. I for one am aware that I have the ability to control my diabetes instead of it controlling me yet I suffer from many symptoms due to poor blood sugar control. At times this make me feel extremely stupid, afterall I ultimately have the ability to control my blood sugars. My physician has advised me that the single most important factor that is causing me the most problesms is stress.Stress is a lethal element since it procduces glucoes in our bodies which gives the sluggish depressed feeling we suffer, leading to depression and at times hopelessness. I am trying to do more exercies, though I can't do alot right now since I am in a wheel chair but I started doing stretches yesterday and it has made me feel somewhat better.so for me, I have found something that I think will work. What have the rest of you done in terms of overcoming your stress?
