The Slow Cooker is My BEST FRIEND
I love collard greens just cooked by themselves. I shred the leaves and cook them with whatever else is going on, and then strain them out when they are done. The only problem is I eat most of them when I take them out. Hard to save much. I like to add them to lentils. And if you like your collards with smoked bacon or pork and do not want the meat, buy some liquid smoke and add. It will indeed satisfy the senses.

Let us know how they turned out for you!

The Slow Cooker is My BEST FRIEND
I am glad to see someone else loves their crock pot! I feel the same way, but I use mine entirely different.

Sundays are my cooking day for most of the week. I cook up all my chicken breasts, potatoes, veggies, and any other meats all in the crock pot. The broth I use to cook my lentils, rice, and other goodies.

I also drink the broth, sometimes adding Moringa leaf powder, or Nettle leaf. It makes an awesome soup! If it gets low I just add more water throughout the week. I cook most leafy greens daily, so that crock is nearly always in use.

I have a pot to boil rice and a pan for eggs and lentil dishes but most everything is cooked in the crock, even my steaks,
