I'm a wife, a mommy, a photographer and a student. I'm balancing all of this while still trying to care for myself and make room me. It's a learning process, but I'm ready for it.

I've reached my highest weight this past year. I've bounced from one fad quick fix to the next trying to lose the weight for one event or another. I've committed to eating healthier and becoming more active and hopefully my weight will go down in the process.

I began struggling with my weight when I had my first child 11 years ago. I'm working to get as far away from my highest weight of 280 lbs as I can get. My current long-ish term goal is to walk a 10k in October without passing out.

I am looking for Diet Buddies
Kat, I was looking for motivation to get back on track and your bit was very motivational.

Winter and diet hardship
I love Kat's idea about the sweets. I made fudge this weekend and really went overboard eating it. I'm going to do that to the remainder of it.

I also love soups, stews and chili. Those are great comfort foods and if they're made right they can be really good for you. I like to make a big pot for dinner one evening and then freeze individual portions for my lunches during the week. It gives me something to look forward to at home so that I don't stop at a fast food place on my way home.

Height/Weight/Size
This is a wonderful topic. When I got pregnant with my first kid I was 19 years old and I weighed 180lbs and was skin and bones. I wore a size 10 and no matter how much I worked out or starved myself I never got lower than that. I, too, was one of those people who could go to the carnival and go to the guess your weight game and win because I looked like I weighed about 145lbs. Now 11 years later I weigh a lot more and realisticly I don't think I can get down to that size again.

5'8"
270 - my highest was 280 a few weeks ago
pants size 22 - down from 24, but the 24 is real comfy and the 22 is a little snug but wearable
tops size 2X - I don't have boobs, I have boobies (B cup) but I like my tops loose

My current goal is 250, but my long term goal is 220. Still sounds heavy but I really just want to feel better about myself and have more confidence when I go out to meet clients because I won't have my looks on my mind but my talent. I know it should be that way now, but it isn't.
