Hey guys, I'm Joanna (: I just turned 17 in June and my birthday resolution is to lose about 20 pounds and get to a normal BMI. I'm easy to talk to and not scary at all, and I would really like to make some buddies on here. Support is always welcome (:

Which parts of the body to measure?
I've read on here that weight alone is not a very accurate measure of how well you're doing and that inches can come off even when the weight stays the same.

So.. which parts of the body do you measure??

If cutting it by 500 calories takes you below 1200 calories you would need to do a low carb / ketogenic diet as it's not safe it eat below a certain amount of calories unless you're in ketosis (ie: switching from burning glucose to burning ketones for energy) because your body will eat away it's own muscle mass & organs for more glucose if you're in glycolysis.

Oh gosh that is exactly my situation. I've been eating below 1200 cals for the past week. Shock What does a low carb/ketogenic diet mean?

Planning ahead
Me too!

Though sometimes I end up not eating the food at all haha. Usually I enter an energy bar beforehand in case I'm still hungry after dinner, so it's already accounted for. I'm kinda worried I'm not getting enough calories though :/
