Studied, trained and taught several martial arts since 1972. Studied with several renowned instructors from America,China,Japan, Korea and the Philippines.. Owned and operated 3 martial arts schools for 15 years.where I trained Law Enforcement, all branches of the military, private protection and everyday folks...Studied , trained and taught several forms of Yoga the most notable being Kundalini..Zen Training both in the US and abroad. have been lifelong weight training enthusiast..
Am retired from it all now and spend my time living the good life on my small ranch in Nor Cal.. With yearly sabaticals throughout Asia.. where I am sometimes known to deal in fine arts..

I have always stayed in shape for most of my life... so how did I end up here ? Well, it's a very long story but the long and the short of it is this.. I was a gasoline tanker driver for a major oil company for 28 years.. a number of years back.. a car drove under my trailer which forced the truck off the road and into a ditch..at 55mph.. The force broke my back and neck.. and as such facilitate a long rehab period.. Without the activity level my body was use to.. I went to around 230lbs.. was terribly out of shape.. and felt like death was knocking at the door..The long road back had many, many challenges that were not limited to the injuries themselves... but here we are now..

Weight Traning
There are different chemical processes going on when a woman weight trains as opposed to a man.. different hormones at play and different natural manipulation of those levels... all assuming , of course, that the woman is running a clean program..and based on initial goals of the program... Resistance training is good for anyone, regardless of gender. Many just see the results in terms of strength and leaner muscle mass, however.. there is far more to it than that..as it can and will effect other bodily processes such as blood sugar levels, blood pressure and the often overlooked effects on brain chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin... Medications for many ailments are the go to and sometimes the first line of defense for common diseases.. Yet , virtually all meds are a double edged sword.. Exercise in any form can reduce and/or eliminate the need for the meds.. But, the long and the short of it is... women should lift... becaue it will add strength and refine definition to the result of the hard work they have done through diet..

Changed over from Livestrong tracker
Hi, Senseiande here..

I just switched over from Livestrong my plate.. It wouldn't let me log in.. So, here I am.. I find this site is a bit more detailed and accurate with diet values..
I started getting back in shape on April 19.. when I was at 198 lbs.. To much weight at my 5'9" height and age.
Since , I have dropped to 177.. using an initial Ketogenic diet..combined with serious heavy, weight lifting, 4 days a week.. martial arts training which I have trained and taught for 40 years..and Highland games training...
I have now transitioned to a cyclical keto.. until I reach a target weight of 170.(a weight I haven't seen since High School 45 years ago).. and then to a modified Paleo..
Seem to be stuck between 175 & 177... so any suggestions are appreciated.... ThanksVery Happy
