Hi Everyone!

I'm a 38 year old mother of 3, ages 13, 4, and 3. My life is nuts and I am constantly on the go. I found myself nearly 55 lbs heavier after I quit smoking, and now it HAS to come off! I need to continue to live a healthier lifestyle now, for myself, my husband, and my children.

Sweet
There is a fabulous quick recipe in my Atkins book, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 tablespoon unsweetened baking cocoa, and 1 packet of splenda. You stir quickly until the cream begins to thicken and fluff. You end up with an amazing chocolate mousse. You can also add a little instant coffee if you want a mocha one. You can find more recipes in the induction section of "The new Atkins for a New you" on page 102. Hope this helps, it sure helps me when my sweet tooth acts up.

RDI?
I think it depends on which program you are following. My RDI is 1900 and the lbs are melting off. However, its 1900 of certain foods on Atkins.

Back Again!
I would love to be your buddy! I quit smoking, with the help of Chantix, in Feb of 2010. I have put on about 55 lbs since then, and it seems that food became the new vice. Good luck to you, and so glad that you made the decision to live a healthier life!

Netflix Streaming Workouts
I had no idea Netflix had these!! This just made my day! Will try it tonight, beats trying to walk in 100 degree temps and awful humidity. Thanks so much for the post!

Gnat, I would generally agree, HOWEVER, she is on Atkins which does not allow chips, etc. At least not in the way we are all accustomed. There are items that are and need to be cut from her diet, at least in the beginning, and some for good. Our old habits are what put us all in the spot we are in. If we do not adapt a new healthy lifestyle, we fall prey to our old ways, and fall back into the unhealthy choices that made us overweight in the first place.
