Newly Retired, thank the Good Lord, Registered Nurse, after 40 years!!
Lost almost 50 lbs about 2 1/2 years ago but weight has crept up over 15 pounds. Promised myself that "when I retired" I would get the re-gain off and reach the goal I never hit.
So, now I have to "pony up".
And, now my husband is diabetic..has been for about three years...managing pretty well.
Here's to "It's About To Hit the Fan".
Dec 2015 Update:
Still Love Being Retired!! I now volunteer for Project C.U.R.E., a non-profit organization with HQ in Denver, CO. Our warehouse is across the street from the American Red Cross in Nashville, TN--we collect medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices, and individuals for distribution overseas. The equipment is repaired, if needed, and everything is sorted and re-packaged for shipment. Missions, charities, and or individuals raise money for the containers of supplies shipped overseas. I am the Biomedical volunteer and I totally love what I am doing. Just enough medical, just enough nursing, and just enough "work" to satisfy my desire to feel useful. But not everyday.
But, even walking around the warehouse did not keep my weight down. By happenstance, I spoke to a new member of my Sunday School at a luncheon about the New Atkins when she said she had not eaten any bread in two years and thus had lost 70 lbs. Well, I was suspicious of Atkins....the old Atkins seemed very "ketoacidosis" like to me. But the more I spoke to her, the more sense it made. So, I found a book she recommended and it makes sense.

I have stopped getting hungry. I have stopped thinking about food. I am not eating white bread, white food, sugar, high carbs. I eat salads, bacon and eggs, cheese omelets, hamburgers (without the bun), and Crystal Lite...oh, I love bacon.
So, here's to "Hitting the Fan with Shrinkage".

Where is the Premium Plan with downloaded recipes that I just signed up on with Google Play Store on my Samsung phone? Can I not use it on my PC? If not, I just wasted $18!!
