I'm older(58)and mother to one 31 yr.old son who has given me 4 grandkids 3 boys age 14 , 12, & 2 and one girl age 1 and I have been with my wonderful hubby for 36 yrs.now. I have several medical problems..my dr. says I have three things against me to lose weight..type 2 diabetes,post menopause, and HYPOthyroidism (I'll also add arthritis in my knee really bad..& a bad back....which keeps me from walking/bending or just standing much)I lost 40 lbs the year before I quit smoking (2 years ago) and since then I have gained 60 lbs which is making me miserable and almost an invalid. I MUST lose 75lbs. so I can breathe and get around easier. I've had a yo-yo weight problem for about 40 years but this is the worst ever ! I just can't seem to get started on another life change again. The quitting smoking took a lot out of me and I'm still dealing with it. Any way I sure could use some motivation and support with losing weight !! HELP !!

OH boy, I sure wish I HAD a place to go swimming as I enjoy swimming, but I live In a VERY rural town in VT & the nearest YMCA to use is 1 & 1/2 hour drive away & the nearest pool to use here is in a health spa/gym and is VERY expensive....I don't work & hubby is on S.S....so money is limited but thanks for the suggestions....I will just keep on chair dancing & lifting weights I guess... LOL

I have hypothyroidism and am on meds...once you go on meds then you are on them for the rest of your life to regulate this....I gained 60lbs.(4stone-4lb.) in the last two years while trying to get the right dosage for thyroid (I also quit smoking @ same time frame) I too have a bad back and bad knee (I need a total knee replacement)...I am 58 yrs old... YES I find it VERY hard to lose weight ! My DR. said I have a few strikes against me that makes weight loss harder...they are: 1. I'm post menapausal (you don't lose it as easily as when you are young), 2. I have hypothyroidism (an under active thyroid which slows metabolism), 3.I have diabetes ( blood glucose is not used properly), & 4. I'm substituting oral substance (food)in place of the cigs, so I have hard time walking,standing,bending...so is the Wii something you think I can use too?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I too noticed the difference...but figured I aught to go by what's on the package I have in front of me. For what it puts in here for the cal. count etc. I figure as long as it all averages out at the end of the day to be close to my actual count then all is ok.

Embarassed thak you so much....sometimes it seems I'm just frustrated over every little thing these days...there seems to be so much I can't do any more and wish I had done it earlier when I could have done it much easier...and computers are one of my biggest frustrations lol...again thank you
