40 years old - two children, aged 15 and 5.
Suffer various medical conditions which I take medication for and which all apparently cause weight gain.
Stopped smoking 18 months ago and gained 10kgs in one month.
Started Tim Noakes banting in April 2014 and lost 5kgs of the 10kgs I had gained in the first month, and then nothing for a whole year after.
It is now April 2015 and I still weigh 65kgs with my goal weight is 60kgs. My height is 1.64.
I have also started spinning recently - I do 20kms a day - very strenuously. I occasionally walk during my lunch break and do housework.
I am peri-menopausal and don't know whether I am fighting a losing battle, but giving it the best I've got!

Tired of dieting and not seeing any changes
For one year and three months I have followed the banting diet. Apart from that, lets add on extra 25 odd years of dieting and purging myself. I am tired now. I lost 5kgs in the first month of banting 15 months ago and have not budged since. I have removed dairy from my life, and still no change. I weigh 65kgs and am 1.64m tall and some might say that I am at my ideal weight. But I am 40 years old now and on a host of medications destined to sabotage my progress. I started spinning 20 kms a day, hoping that this would give my "plateau" a giant kick up the @&& but no such luck. So, I have given up. Today I ate a Magnum icecream, a Cadbury's Bubbly, and two Mini Tex's and two Mini Bar One's (was craving chocolate). Embarassed But back to my point: as much as I would love to weigh 60kgs - it doesn't look like I'm ever going to get there Sad - feeling sad and discouraged.
