mikefarin ha, you are awesome! What a great explanation! I guess whatever works for people in the long term and what keeps them happy and healthy, that's what they should do. I don't really understand why people who are not eating the Atkins way are so passionately chiming in on this seemingly benign musing of mine that I randomly posted so many months ago. Whether you're counting carbs or calories, you're still counting and you're still monitoring what is going into your mouth! Atkins, just like counting calories is not a means to an end, it is a way of life, for the rest of your life.

Frustrated, but never hungry
You know what I like best about this WOE? I like the fact that even though I may be mad that I can't have real pizza or pasta or even a baked potato, I can take comfort in the fact that I NEVER have to starve myself to reach my goal. I'm angry, but angry on a full stomach. Wink

Atkins Bars/Counting Net Carbs?
I don't know why, but it does, somehow. I know it can stall my weight loss big time....I have to watch how much diet soda I have. Plus, the Atkins diet says that you shouldn't have more than 3 or 4 carbs from artificial sweeteners a day because it can interfere with your weight loss. I know, it stinks....I have learned how to drink my coffee and iced tea with no sweeteners....blech!!! LOL

Atkins Bars/Counting Net Carbs?
Does it have sugar alcohols in it? If it does, then you also subtract them from the total carb count. I would still watch how many you eat though, they sometimes can cause a stall in weight loss because of all the sugar substitute in it.
