Hi. I'm 59, a single female. My Mom lives with me - she has early-onset dementia, but otherwise is quite healthy for 86. We live in Burlington ONT, a suburb of Toronto. I've been plus-sized since my early 30's, and have tried every diet out there. I had my best success with Jenny Craig (50 lbs about 10 yrs ago), but didn't stick with it. My doctor asked me to try a Keto-LCHF diet she is using herself and that her other patients have had success with. It's been a month - 14 lbs. So far so good. I'm supposed to track net-carbs *ONLY* and try to keep my daily intake around 30 g. - just eat when I'm hungry, eat till I'm full then stop. Proteins, healthy fats (which includes butter, cream, full-fat mayo, avocado, olive oil), most veggies, but only a few berry-type fruits. No potatoes/rice/pasta/breads. Eww. No bread was hard to take so I have been trying various keto bread recipes and store-bought low-carb breads.
