Good morning, friends! I’m still super busy with work and the kids, so I haven’t had much time to log into FS, but I miss interacting with all of you. 💖 We randomly lost power, gas, and water last night at 5pm until early this morning and it was a little chaotic. I’m amazed how people used to raise small kids without the help of electricity, tv, wifi, a stove, indoor plumbing, etc. The twinkies were terrified of the dark and really upset that their iPad wasn’t working.

I woke up feeling so privileged once power and water were restored, so I’m feeling extra gratitude for all our modern conveniences on this beautiful day.

At the advice of Erq, I got these little egg molds and wanted to try them out today. I over cooked the eggies a little bit, but they were still delish. It always amazes me how much more I get out of my breakfast when I include eggs. This was only 287 cals and 27g protein, but was really filling. I also had a small piece of sourdough that didn’t fit on my plate.

Work is picking up again, so I’m off to go push pixels around. Sending everyone love and peace! Hope to check in with my homies later today. 💖

I forgot my gloves at home, so I couldn’t deadlift heavy, but I still got an amazing workout in today. The gym was busier than usual, so I couldn’t get to the squat racks either, but I did what I could with free weights.

I did get a little overzealous with the glute drive machine because I noticed I was able to lift 20lbs more than last week, but the belt dug into my skin and left what can only be described as a giant hickey. It doesn’t hurt, but looks pretty gnarly.

I managed a quick run (ok, jog) tonight and it felt great! I had to stop after 2 miles because my lungs were burning and my sides were cramping, but I’m happy I found the energy to do it despite being terribly sleep deprived.

I looked at my workouts this year and realized that I only ran a total of 5 times since the beginning of July. I’m really hoping I can go back to weekly runs to build my stamina and pace back up. I remember when I ran regularly, I had so much more energy and I slept much better. I’ve gotten used to 4-5 crappy hours per night, but I really miss conking out and sleeping so deeply, that I actually wake up refreshed.

Life has gotten way too complicated this summer and I’m craving peace, balance, and routine. My energy levels seem a little better this week, so I’m going to push myself to be more active again.

Lifting makes me feel pretty badass and running makes me feel free. I realize I need both to feel my best. 💖🧜🏻‍♀️
