In the 90’s, after my first child, I was under 200, but not by much. I went on Weight Watchers for 8 weeks and lost 17 pounds. I really liked the way I looked and felt, but couldn’t keep up with the program. It just seemed like so much trouble and effort.
In the late 90’s and after my 3rd kid, I joined nutrisystem...no thank you. Didn’t lose anything but money!
I had my 4th child in 2000 and went up to about 225. I tried Atkins, and lost 17 pounds again (my lucky number?). But that diet really messed with my stomach, and I got really bad skin problems.
So no more successful diets. I would get motivated to try something, other apps, cabbage soup, fasting, anything I heard or read about, and a week later it was abandoned.
UNTIL FatSecret.
I’m almost one month in, and I’m still motivated and losing steadily. This app is so easy, so clear. The support is immediate and so positive. I love it. I’m down 13 pounds, and looking forward to getting to 17 and then losing more!!!.
My ultimate goal is to get to 155 which is the recommendation for my height. I want to be able to buy cute clothes. I want to go to an amusement park and not stress that I’m going to fit into the seat! I don’t want to have achy hips and knees every time I walk around the mall. I want to go to Disney and not be exhausted after an hour or two.
I have a few smaller goals:
By Halloween - be under 200
By Thanksgiving - be under 190 (BMI will be ‘overweight’ instead of ‘obese’
By February 2 - be under 175, a weight I felt really good at
By April 5 (my 54 birthday) - be under 163 (BMI will finally be ‘healthy’
By June 5 (the 40 year anniversary of meeting my husband) - be at target weight of 155.
