I'm a single 31 year old who has plenty of time to exercise. I've been one of those people who is either all or nothing. I've gone a roller coaster weight ride over the past few years. I have an easy time losing weight and an even easier time gaining weight. This year started out bad hitting my highest weight ever 238 and having blood pressure through the roof. I had to go on blood pressure medication. I first focused on diet...I lost about 35 pounds in the first 3 months. I have now been exercising more (P90X) and also dieting. I can tell i'm getting stronger even though the weight hasn't been coming off as much. I don't want to go back on the roller coaster. Now is the time to lose it and keep it off.

I keep track of my daily progress at http://cjrdiet.blogspot.com

Insanity?
I have been doing both P90X and Insanity and think they are both great. Now from my standpoint I can't stand going to the gym, don't like the environment, so working out at home is perfect for me. I've never sweat as much as I do during Insanity workouts. They are all about 40 minutes which is nice compared to the length of the P90X workouts. At the same time I don't think I would do just Insanity since I like the weight training of P90X. I'll just say the Insanity workouts definitely kick my butt, really work my core/abs, and definitely give me the feeling I'm getting stronger for my running regime.

Hair Loss
@healthy_allie...I've heard coconut oil is good for the scalp. I'm thinning in the front part of my hair and I've recently started putting it on. Not sure if it will do anything but if you research there is some data that says it may help.

Measuring distance
I use the My Tracks app on my Android smartphone to track all my walks/jogs. It gives you nice things like moving time, average speed and elevation gain.
