I am a SAHM until I can find a good job with my degree. I am married to my best friend and have a son who is 7 years old. I went to school for Applied Geography with a high concentration in mapping software. If I can land something worthwhile I plan to pay off my Bachelors Degree and start on my PhD in coastal marine science. I have always had an athletic build and luckily even when I was heavy, carried my weight well. My mother who had Cystic Fibrosis lived until she was 49 and died this year, 2012, on Easter Sunday. For the last 4 years in order to make herself healthier, even with the disease she bought weight sets and did her exercises daily along with swimming and treadmill. It really helped her have an easier time breathing and looking fit. She has inspired me to do the same because it really gives you longevity in life. She wouldn't have even lived another 4 years if she hadn't done so well at exercising each and every day. I will never forget her and its been hard not seeing her, but I know time heals.

Eating after work....
That is my problem too, especially in the summer when the heat is on during the day oh man forget food, just water. Then nighttime comes and its like "bring on the food!" and I'm famished. Its terrible, but I've been getting under some control but I still have about 2 days a week where I go over and thats what I'm having such a hard time with, otherwise I know I would have lost more by now.

Here's to the losers. (a little motivation)
Makes me think of my mom and due to her disease she didn't let it get her down. She did exactly what it says and lived the last 5 years of her life probably way better than it would have been had she not done daily exercise and nutrition.
Every time I feel it getting difficult I think of the monstrosity of difficulties she faced on a daily basis! I am weak compared to that.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!
I am new here also and have most of my food knowledge from doing the South Beach Diet several times during the past 5 years. Now that I know how to eat I just have to learn portion sizes. So far I'm doing great on that because the whole grains and high fiber foods fill you up good even in small portions. I remember a recipe I used to make using the carton of egg yolk and frozen spinach bag and sprinkled cheese. You mix the 3 in a bowl and pour them into muffin pan and bake in the oven for about 20 mins? It could be less, you will see when the egg is done and they are nice little snacks to keep in the fridge for either breakfast or a quick snack.

Needs pointed in the right direction
I'm going also and I am going to get some popcorn, oikos flavored greek yogurts and skinny girl treats for my sweet tooth days.

New kid on the block....
I have done both the south beach and ww and find that both end up teaching you how to eat a balanced diet. I am ready for ww but didn't want to spend the money for the website, now that i've found this you really answered my question on whether I could treat this site the same way. I was really feeling like it was the same thing, without the expense. I hope to reach my goal as well Smile
