Amazing Weight Loss Tips - How to Find the Right Diet Buddy for You
A diet buddy can make all the difference between plummeting weight and bitter disappointment. Since keeping a diet is so hard, nothing motivates more than someone breathing down your neck and helping you push yourself to the limit. Unfortunately, finding the right buddy can be very difficult. Where do you look for one? And how do you choose the right one for you? In this article, I will help you answer these simple questions.

Where to Look

There are many places on the Internet where you can find diet buddy communities. These websites help people like you find such buddies all over the world. Just type in "diet buddy" into your favorite search engine (I prefer Google). You will find a bunch of great websites containing listings of people interested in finding someone to lose weight with.

What to Look For

This is really the hardest part of finding a diet buddy. Your relationship with your buddy is different from friendship. It will be someone you will work with to achieve your weight loss goals. Therefore, be sure to look at the following characteristics in a potential diet buddy:

1. Trust

This is the most important one. You can't work with a diet buddy you don't trust, it's as simple as that. By trust, I mean finding someone you can open up to if necessary. If you slipped in your diet, it should be a person who will both support you and encourage you not to do it again. You should be comfortable discussing such things with your weight loss partner.. Remember that results will depend a lot on whether you are able to rely upon your buddy or not.

2. Shared Goals

This is also very important. You and your buddy must share the same weight loss goals. This means that if you're looking to lose 30 pounds and he's looking to drop 70, then this relationship will not work. Why? Because he will probably try lose weight much faster or in a different manner than what you planned. As a result, you will end up fighting about the different ways and means, simply because your goals are so different to begin with.

3. Distance

By distance, I mean that a diet buddy shouldn't be someone from your family or someone you live with. The reason is that a diet buddy is there partly to make sure that you're on the right track. Therefore, if your buddy is someone from your family, then you'll soon feel like you're under constant scrutiny. Instead, choose someone you don't live with, but someone you can regularly meet. I'd also recommend staying away from co-worker diet buddies, since the relationship will likely be very personal and may involve the kind of things you wouldn't want to see shared around the office.

As you can see, finding a diet buddy isn't hard at all so long as you follow this simple advice. Remember that trust, comfort and shared objects are the three key elements of a successful buddy relationship. If those are in place, it's a safe bet that the rest will follow.
