new to atkins: again
Ok… since I am new to this forum, before I post my numbers, I thought I should fill everyone in on a little background info so you have some idea of where I am coming from… so here goes:
I have been dieting non-stop throughout most of my life. I am female, 34 years old, 5’3”, and have not been very physically active throughout most of my life. I am not currently at my highest weight (215 lbs) or my lowest weight (105 lbs) but I can feel the weight creeping back on. Right now I weigh 167 lbs. I tried Atkins before and was very successful, however, I got myself into a destructive pattern of thinking that Atkins was a quick fix, instead of a lifetime plan. So... now I am working on re-training myself to eat right and exercise at least 5 days a week. I am confident that I can do this and make it last this time!
I was VERY serious about doing Atkins correctly the first time I tried it. I actually stuck to it... to the "T" for 6 months straight and did amazing. But what really threw me off track was I started drinking wine again. I have been a heavy wine drinker for about the last 15 years or so. (I had given it up for the 6-month period I was following Atkins before and switched to vodka and diet cola one day a week since it was carb free). Once I started drinking wine again, which contains a lot of natural sugars, I started slowly gaining weight back. And on top of that, I would get a little tipsy and talk myself into thinking that it was ok to cheat here and there... then, next thing I knew, I stopped keeping my daily food log and eating the same way I did before, which had originally caused me to become so overweight in the first place. Now that I have started back up on Atkins (8/23/2010) I have once again started to limit myself to one alcohol night a week, and ONLY drinking vodka and diet soda since I know it didn't affect my weight loss doing it that way last time. Alcohol is my personal weakness so I have to keep myself very committed to stick to the plan and stay positive about how much my body will thank me in the long run.
So… I will start posting my numbers weekly on Fridays from here on out. Here they are:
SW - 175 lbs
LW - 167 lbs
TW - 165 lbs
WL - 2 lbs
TL – 10 lbs
