I'm a 50 year old father of three. Spent my younger adult life as a very active and healthy man involved with sports and never had issues with my weight. Like many others, the toll that time and stress takes on our bodies as we age has taken its toll on me. From changes in lifestyle to just simply making bad choices, I found myself turning 50 in October 2017 weighing a full 100 pounds more than I did at 29.

I set realistic expectations for the Holidays to simply hold the line (I actually lost about 7 or 8 pounds the last 2 months of 2017). I kicked off 2018 on a mission to rediscover the active and energetic man of 20 years ago. I began a low carb / high fat / high fiber lifestyle on January 2, 2018. I have had success with this WOE in years past and have decided to make it a permanent lifestyle change. I have nearly 100 pounds to lose, but don't expect the 50 year old version of me with a 34 inch waist to weigh the same as the 29 year old version did. But maybe I will surprise myself :-) Either way, looking forward to the journey and I refuse to let a number define me or my disposition!
