How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I know it's not the best way to see progress, but I don't own a scale! When I used to, I found I got quite weirdly obsessive about weighing myself, which seemed to trigger/connect to other kinds of obsessive behavior around food and eating.

I have to go to the doctor pretty often, so I am just using my weights from those visits. It isn't as much information as I'd like to have, but I do notice even small differences in my clothing fit. I don't think I'd change anything even if weight wasn't coming off, unless it went on for several weeks, and I go to a doctor often enough to note that.

The Asthma - Wheat connection.
Thanks, Mummydee. Your response and northernmusician's post, among other things, are making me think maybe it's time to get serious about cutting out wheat again. Once again I've had severe health issues and I'm worn out, though no asthma as yet. I can't even remember why or when I started eating wheat again! My best to you all...

The Asthma - Wheat connection.
Hi northernmusician, about seven years ago I had asthma that was very difficult to control for several weeks. I was a first-time sufferer with symptoms apparently triggered by a severe shellfish reaction. In the aftermath of all of this, though not shown to have other food allergies, I went on an elimination diet because another med Rx made it hard for me to eat. Ultimately I eliminated wheat from my diet (again, not shown to be an issue via testing,) and my asthma and some stomach issues cleared up. I lost 50 pounds relatively quickly and kept it off for a few years. And problem inflammation that was hanging on after a surgery seemed to magically disappear. I attributed this primarily to the elimination of wheat, though none of the doctors involved ever agreed. Sometimes you just know, right?
