Hi, I have used Fatsecret for years but kept my profile private as I didn't have time and pretty much just wanted to track my food intake. Now, I thought I'd try a challenge to see how it goes.

I've struggled with my weight since my mid teens. Was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in my mid 20s. I lost 60 lbs. then and had a very active lifestyle so was able to keep it off for years.

When I got pregnant with my first child I put on 10 pounds the first month and gained 40 pounds over the pregnancy. It took me 2 years to buckle down and lose 30 of those 40 pounds. Then I got pregnant again and gained 40 pounds again. This time it took me 3 years to lose the weight.

I got close to my goal and my Father passed away (the only constant adult in my life). I went into a deep depression and gained quite a bit of weight. Though I have been on some half hearted diets since then, I've not been successful at losing more than 30 pounds and then gain it back.

I'm now 66, retired, am pre diabetic and need to get serious. I've noticed other issues as well.
