Another day of being a carnivore down! Today my only complaint is that my right bicep hurts like I lifted something heavy, but I didn't, so I'm not sure what to make of that.
I was reading Wikipedia the other day and saw that aside from animals, wolves will on occasion eat things like watermelon. I found that pretty interesting given that the human digestive tract is comparable to that of a wolf.

One day of eating all animal products so far and I'm feeling good. Last night, instead of getting gradually more tired as the night wore on, I got suddenly tired at midnight and had to call it a day. I won't really complain about that, though, since I should have been asleep anyway.
Does anyone know of a good resource for older books? There was a diet book published in the '50-'60s, so it is still under copyright, but the publisher hasn't re-released it since then. I don't really thing going to the public library with my fingers crossed is the best way to find a copy.

Today I'm starting a one month journey as a carnivore. I know that probably sounds strange, but there are a lot of people on this site who go to the opposite end of the spectrum (herbivore/vegetarian/vegan/etc) so it isn't that big of a leap, is it?
This is really just an experiment to see how I feel eating nothing but meat for a month. I'm basing this experiment on the book
Eat Fat & Grow Slim
by Richard MacKarness. The premise of the book, clearly stated on the first page, is that "carbohydrates provide calories and nothing else."

Things are going really well. I made a quick soup out of cabbage and a cheap cut of pork and I've been eating that for a few days now. I've been reading a couple of books (and e-books) but none of them appeal to me more than Protein Power. The South Beach Supercharged book looks good, but its a bit expensive for my tastes :-D Maybe I'll see if the library has a copy.

I'm doing poorly on my diet and I think I need to try something different, only if because I do better when I have that "new diet" excitement. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lower-carb diet that is different than Protein Power (which is similar to Atkins)? I'd appreciate the advice.
