Probably just like everyone else here. I was fit in college, got a desk job, got married, we had a kid, and got fatter (30lb gain).
I made a new year resolution (how orginal) to lose weight. Not sucessful for the first two months (fustrated and dissappointed). Then around Feb, on my birthday, I found this website, and dove in headfirst. So far so good. I am very pleased with this website and hope it continues to grow.
UPDATE: 3/23/11 - Was somewhat sucessful last year. Lost 10 pounds, however I got too content and slacked off. Luckily I did not gain much during my "off" period. Now I'm back on track (since Feb 1, 2011) with a new goal of 165 lbs. Already halfway there!
UPDATE 2: 8/14/12 - Well I'm back where I was. Up and down, up and down. Hopefully this time I can keep it down. Luckily I've got two thing to motivate me. One: Half Marathon in November. Two: Health insurance discount.
UPDATE 3: 9/7/12 - Well that didn't last long. Finally went to doctor yesterday (dislike doctors) and found out I have really high blood pressure. Since I don't like medication he says we should try....wait for it....DIET AND EXERCISE! I'm not getting any younger and Sh!t just got real. I got three weeks to turn the ship around or it's on to medication. Wt. 186.5, BP 135/95
