my simple advice is to get familiar with macronutrients and counting calories. You sound like you are just getting started so don't overwhelm yourself by going too fast too soon! Make lasting changes and habits that will stick for the long haul and the fat will melt off. Get into a calorie deficit and try a beginner strength program, hope this helps!

Great advice, this is how i started my weight-loss journey and it was very effective, counted calories and got into a deficit. Since then i progressed to LCHF and lost 16kgs in 6 months, not bad i think Smile

Thanks! Your progression sounds really good, nice work! What diet/training regimen are you currently following?

How to figure out calories?
KatS219,

Oh okay I see what you are saying. Well with a mushroom burger that's kind of tough because most people don't split up their burgers into fractions. I would probably just eye it honestly. If you have the nutrient content for the entire dish, eyeing the individual servings shouldn't be far off the mark! Hope this helps!

How to figure out calories?
My recommendation is to check the serving sizes for each ingredient in grams, and then weight it out on the scale. It will be more tedious and time-consuming, but you will be able to measure out all your ingredients before to ensure precision in your nutrient content.
