I'm 22 years old and have gained alot of weight over the past few years. About 4 years ago I was 120 - 130 pounds without even trying. Right now I'm at my heaviest and I want to lose all the weight. I've used fatsecret before and lost 7 pounds but I gave up and gained it all back. But now I'm ready to make a change in my eating habits and keep it that way.

Media influence
Yeah I feel the same way, and it doesn't help when almost everyone I know can eat whatever they want and hardly gain weight. That's a good thing to keep in mind, I try to think that too but sometimes it gets overshadowed by stuff in the media, etc. Thank you Smile

Recently I read an interview in a magazine and the girl who was being interviewed just had lap band surgery and lost 30 pounds. And she goes on saying that she couldn't look at herself anymore etc, and her height / weight is similar to mine. Reading this makes me feel even worse about my current siutation. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with getting the lap band if you need it but reading that she couldn't look at herself anymore when I look the same way makes me feel just so bad. Has anyone experianced anything like this?

Eeh I feel like products like that aren't the best. But it's better to reach for that than soda when you're bored of water.

Over Weighing yourself
I actually have the opposite problem, I refuse to look at the scale anymore. I'd rather see the result than keep looking at the numbers. But then it's like since I'm just starting to diet how am I going to know if what I'm doing is working, you know?
