I quit my job and took collage classes to finish my degree later in life. I dedicated my life to my grades and did very well. Unfortunately the stress of studying to maintain a 4.0 in most of my classes had me stress eating. My weight went up to 240 lbs. At 5' 11" I should be around 200 lbs with a muscular build. I found I was good at cycling when I started cycling to work in Austin TX. I trained 50 miles a day in my 30's and rode on many group rides until I moved away from the area. I didn't ride much in my 40 and 50's. In my later 50's I started riding again and found I still had a knack for it. I've reached close to my limit in cycle conditioning. The main thing I can do now to improve significantly is increase my power to weight ratio. I can only get significantly more competitive as my weight decreases. Riding with friends who challenge me encourages me to get better.
