I'm in my mid-thirties, am five feet tall, and have always been the sort of person who gravitates toward sedentary activities. Give me a couch and a good book, a ball of yarn, a canvas and paint, or a laptop and a WiFi connection, and I could be there all day. Sports were never my thing, and I was always so busy with my quiet activities that I didn't even notice as my weight gradually crept up and up, until I suddenly realized upon graduating from college that I weighed 150 pounds and wasn't feeling so great.
My first post-college job forced me into a more active lifestyle, and without any planning or special effort on my part, the weight melted away over a couple of years. I felt incredible--energized, strong, like I'd found another me who actually enjoyed being in motion. I weighed maybe 115 pounds.
Fast forward to the present time: a different job (long hours at a desk), a different city (afraid to ride a bike here), and I'm back up to about 130 pounds. I've been feeling very low energy and uncomfortable, and I'm ready to get back to that other me.
My plan for now is to weigh in regularly (at least weekly), incorporate at least a little activity into every day (walking, yoga, calisthenics at home, dancing by myself), and track my caloric intake and expenditure closely via this handy site. Because this isn't just about the number on the scale, but about how I feel, I've also started taking a vitamin D supplement and a B-complex (I eat vegan most of the time and vegetarian the rest).
My goal for now is to get back to 115 lbs and feel better!
Starting weight: 129.1 lbs
By October 4: 123 lbs (rate of 1.5 lbs per week)
By November 1: 119 lbs (rate of 1 lb per week)
By November 29: 115 lbs (rate of 1 lb per week)
I've never been a part of an online community, but would love to support others and receive some support. We can do this!
