44 yrs old former 3 sport athlete that never really had to workout. Staying in shape just came natural to me. I played football, baseball, and basketball in high school and college. My average weight in high school and college was 185-190. Eating right was not something I did, or was even concerned with.
When I married my awesome wife in 1997, I was 190 pounds and still very active. I began to gain weight after about the 3rd or 4th year. Before I gained an average of about 5 pounds a year until I was around 220. My activity level was not as intense as it was a few years before. I was no longer playing basketball or softball 2-3 times a week as before. I was playing basketball maybe once a week now. In 2005 my daughter was born. Because I wanted to be at home more, my time at the gym came to a stand still. Even my yard work slowed down a great deal. The next thing I knew, I was 40yrs old and weighed in at 255lbs. How did this happen!!! I began to spiral into a cycle of feeling helpless and still gaining weight until I reach my highest point of 325lbs.
After feeling so hopeless that there was nothing I could do about my weight, I began to research weight loss surgery. All it took was one meeting with a Support group to change my thinking on that!! The procedure was explained to me, of going in and sectioning off part of my stomach with the Sleevestectomy surgery. I was scared straight. After I got over the shock that lasted 3 days, I decided that I had the ability to do it on my own. I found a determination that I no longer knew I had. I began to look at ways I could handle my food intake, and decided to make the time for exercise instead of excuses. It's time!!
So now my journey begins. I know it will be hard. I know it will be long. But bottom line, if I am going to do it I have to be all in, or not in at all. I have to push myself everyday with my ultimate goal in mind.

New group "Looking to Lose 100" just created
We have got to keep pushing ourselves. This has to become our lifestyle, or we wont stay with it. It's going to be hard, but it will be so worth it. "nothing taste, as good as slim feels" That has to drive us everyday. If we support and encourage each other, we can make it. It's easy to sit on the sidelines and judge and make excuses. But we know the struggles better than anyone. So we can help each other.
I invite you both to join the group "Looking to Lose 100" as we take on this journey.

Weigh-In Tuesday
weigh-in Tuesday produced a drop of 1 lbs this morning. Not a bad start after only 3 days. Gotta push myself everyday. Had a 447 calorie breakfast, thanks to the 20oz cup of coffee that I had to have this morning. Stayed up until 12:40 watching the NBA game last night!

I just started a new group and would love for those with the same goal to join. I am hoping we can all support each other in obtaining this goal or doing the best we can. We are all in this together!
