Well I've been away for some time and unfortunately it's not been a good time weight wise, I have been up and down quite a lot over the last 12 months and now I'm up again and its got the point where enough is enough, it's time to get back on track and do something.

It's not all been bad, I did manage to shed almost a stone a few months ago for my wedding, but then we splurged on the honeymoon and I've not been able to get back on track since we came back.

I kind of restarted on Monday, but I didn't track properly so I'm only going to count my restart from yesterday. I had a good day both with food and exercise. I "ran" my first ever 5k (or even first ever race for that matter). I say "ran" as there was quite a big chunk of walking involved, but I did it and in a time of just under 45 minutes. Very pleased, especially as I was pretty stupid and didn't do any training at all. At least I've got a time to beat at my next race which I've just signed up for. It's not until October so hopefully I can get some weight shifted and be in better shape for it that yesterdays race!

Only problem is I took a tumble early on in the race which didn't affect me during the race (apart from a sore elbow) but during the night I woke up and my foot was throbbing. It's not much better now and I'm struggling to even walk at the moment. I'm sure it will be fine in a couple of days however and then I can hopefully get some training in for my next race.

It's good to be back.

Hello again FatSecret and all your wonderful members.

I haven't really been anywhere, I've still been recording and I've still been reading the forum, but I've not really had my heart in it.

Things seem to have got back on track now however. The last 3 days (Sunday, Monday and today) I've recorded every single thing I've eaten and got back into proper exercise. Plus, today for the first time in a few weeks I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the forum posts and journal entries. Before, I guess I was just going through the motions.

One thing I've learned over the last month is that I'm NOT an emotional eater, but when things get a little tough, recording and journaling seems to take a back seat. What I've found myself doing is counting/recording breakfast and lunch, but then just sort of guessing with dinner. It's not done me any harm it seems, I've not put any weight on, but I've not been losing like I want. I'm pleased that I have managed to maintain, but I'm not done losing yet. In 35lbs time I'll be ecstatic if maintainence goes as well as the last few weeks.

I'm back and I feel strong. It's time to get rid of those 35 pounds. Watch this space...
