hey. im here to record my progress. i dont feel at all comfortable talking about my weight or my diet with friends or family so i decided to join this website and see if i can receive and offer some support!

so i actually havent written anything about myself... so here i go. im 20 years old and ive always been on sports teams. until about two years ago... basically when i started college and stopped playing sports. add into the mix my always existant compulsive overeating and you get weight gain. i used to go to overeaters anonymous meetings, but my school schedule clashes with them now.. :(
the thing is that i know EXACTLY what i should be eating... i m a pretty good cook... and i have healthy stuff at home. thats not the problem. the problem is ME. and thats the worst problem you can have. i feel like when i fail, its all my fault (and it is...).
so i actually went to a eating disorder therapist and on the second session she told me that my problem was gonna get worse unless i went to a psychiatrist to get some medication subscribed. that REALLY scared me because as far as i know, there is no 'magic pill' to block out compulsive thoughts about food. so i guess the medication would just slow my thoughts down or make me zone out or something.
well im not ready to do that. im not ready to give up yet. i want to try this out and see if i can succeed with some support and record keeping.

i dont know anyone on this website, so if you get a friend request from me, its just because im hoping to get some support and also offer some support in return! i think we all joined this community to help ourselves but also to help each other out. i dont want to do this alone and im sure you dont either...

well write me if you have any questions. im sure i left a whole bunch of stuff out because its kinda late and im tired.

Back after cahngin to Weight Watchers
yes, that is wonderful! im really happy to hear that WW is becoming a habit for you. THATS what their main message is, right? stop dieting, start living. and it sounds like youre getting your life back. its absolutely great that you quit smoking, hats off to you for that! that proves that youre a fighter and that youre able to overcome compulsions and temptation! it seems like you learned from that experience because youve been really successful with the scale. two pounds a week for six consecutive weeks is tremendous! remember, that the closer to your healthy goal weight you are, the more challenging it is for your body to let go of those lbs! but dont worry. i have a feeling that youll be fine! excercise always seems to jolt the body into action!
