"You have such a pretty face!"

Ever get tired of hearing something that's supposed to be meant as a compliment?

I do.

To me, those words mean, the only thing we think worthy of commenting positively on is your face.

That's why I'm here. I no longer feel comfortable inside of my own skin. I have pulled the fat suit over my head and hidden myself away inside of it.

Time to put it away. I need to feel alive again.

January 9, 2012: I am newly motivated once again. My marriage of 4 years is ending. I will be moving out of the home that my husband and I JUST bought 6 weeks ago as soon as I can. It's a new start for a new life. I will be leaving behind my 7 year old stepson, though I do plan to continue a very close relationship with him. This is such a huge move for me. I am scared. I am nervous. I am anxious about what life will hold, but I have found a courage inside of me that has been buried for a long time. Here I go. Try to stop me.

Fatorexia: I'm not that fat...
I knew I was putting on weight, but I kept telling myself that it wasn't that bad. Then my husband lovingly took a picture of me on his cell phone and sent it to me with the message "I Love You." I was mortified because even though he did it with total love in his heart, I got to really see what I looked like. Then I was at one of my best friend's houses and her husband was setting up a new security camera a couple days later, and I got to see myself on video there. Again, the humiliation washed over me as I realized exactly how big I'd allowed myself to get once again. I decided to weigh myself the next day and discovered I was only 14 pounds away from my heaviest weight ever.

I hate that I couldn't see myself before. I asked my husband why he didn't tell me I was gaining so much weight again, and he told me what he always tells me.. "I love you no matter what size you are. It doesn't matter to me, so I guess I don't really notice it like you do."

I'm 7 pounds down, and heading in the right direction. It will be a struggle, but I'll be back to a happier place.

Losing Weight While Chugging Water
It's definitely a help to get the proper amounts of water each day!

I'm not a stranger to weightloss. In fact, 3 years ago, I dropped over 100 pounds of weight. My highest recorded weight was 340 pounds though I suspect it had crept up 10 pounds more or so. My lowest adult weight was later that same year at 235 pounds. It took a lot of hard work.

Unfortunately, my food addiction got the best of me. The past 18 months have been terribly emotional for me, and I gained a lot of weight back. I'm still 25 pounds short of my highest weight, so I guess I can hold on to that as a positive.

My first mini-goal is to be under 300 pounds again. I'm looking forward to having that happen by the end of February.

Then I'd like to see under 280 again which hasn't happened in over a year.

Then I'll play it by ear.. seeing how well I progress with time.

By the summer, I'd really like to be under 260 again. I know it's a good bit of weight, but it's also a good bit of time if you think about it. 60 pounds to lose in about 5 months. I think it can be done. It will just take a lot of hard work on my part.

I'm ready for it though!

And if I don't reach that goal, I don't.

I can be realistic about it!
