Working as a software consultant. From childhood, I never was very physically active. It was the normal cycling to school, minimal cricket and a healthy home food cooked by my mom that kept me from becoming obese. Once after graduation, heavy work pulling 50 to 55 hours work per week consistently for 5 years initially into the career contributed to this weight. From then on, I could only maintain from becoming more overweight. Hopefully the forum here helps me. I dont take sweets or chocolates. I don't take sugar in coffee or tea. I take lots of black coffee - 4 cups per day.

ENCOURAGEMENT POST: Reversed T2 Diabetes & Almost at Weight Goal
Great inspiration. Some of the things that you have said, I face as well. Although nothing showed up on the annual blood test as a diabetic marker yet, I am sure I too face insulin resistance based on your story. I snack a lot. I go about 10 hours with out solid food but eat about every two hours rest of the time. That makes around 6 to 7 intakes per day. Also I drink black coffee about 4 times a day which will give rise to cortisol as per your post. I struggled to lose weight even when I followed strictly a decent calorie diet for 4 months (average of 1800 calories) and some moderate exercise which should have resulted in reduction and gained a lot in few weeks I stopped this diet. My immediate take away from your post is 1) To reduce the coffee (control cortisol), 2) Do that fasting of 12 to 14 hours and eat the rest of the meals daily in the remaining 9 hours and 3) To stop eating after 8 PM and additionally have atleast 8 hours sleep. I am not sure if I have to start a Keto yet. Keto appears a bit extreme. I rather want to do a 5:2 diet where I eat just less than 800 calories for two days and recommended amount of calories (around 2000 calories) with a medium carb diet for the rest 5 days. Hope this this change in the routine helps to reduce the possible insulin resistance I face with.

Help needed for breaking weight plateau
Hi Rogersabo,

Yes. I did not account them initially few months back. I realised how they can sneak in calories and started accounting them in the last month. You have a good point.

Help needed for breaking weight plateau
I have an update for all who replied.
-> From my feeling perspective, I feel lighter. However the scale is not reflecting.
-> Also I notice that I was underestimating the weight of some food items. I got a food scale as advised by Diablo360x and realised that on average my calorie intake has gone up by 300 to 400 calories per day with the adjusted calculations.
-> Still the scales should have tipped. Thinking that the FS is estimating high for the calories burned in rest and for walking.

Help needed for breaking weight plateau
Hi,

I am 40 years old.

I am obese and my weight is stable at 106 Kgs for the last two to three months.

Although I am not starving, I record all my entries here in this site. When I take stock of the entries, I see that my food intake range from 1400 calories to 2600 calories a day averaging around 2000 calories per day.

I walk at 4 Kmph roughly for 20 minutes to 1 hour every day. And I bicycle for 1.5 hours on week end. This is my exercise routine.

based on this, Fat secret calculates an average daily net calorie deficit of 600 calories per day. This should have resulted in 600 * 30 = 18000 / 3500 calories = 6 Lbs loss in the last month. However I am not losing any weight for the last three months.

My weighins are as follows

12 Mar - 105.8 Kg
6 Mar - 106 Kg
28 Feb - 105.4 Kg
26 Feb - 106 Kg
05 Feb - 105.5 Kg
30 Jan - 106 Kg

Can you all please provide some suggestions to help?
