An00bis, I'm a nurse and I've worked physical therapy. Physical therapy is for far more than you realize. Therapists are having client who are physically inactive and overweight do weighted hoops to help them develop their core muscles and reduce lower back strain by working muscle that don't get used much in other ways.

Interesting.....I'm going to say the opposite as the previous person. I don't think they realize the hoops are weighted and therefore, do offer some resistance but mainly, it's an aerobic workout. You'll be using lots of muscles, mainly your core, and you'll have to work on balance.

There's a reason that physical therapists are starting people on hula hoops these days!! And they have medical degrees!

I would never say it's the perfect workout and it won't replace say, weight lifting but if it isn't fun, you aren't going to do it so why not?

Joining the club! I'm perimenopausal (hate those hot flashes!!), hypothyroidism and PCOS. But Atkins is working! Slowly, but still! And WOW Candy! I'm impressed! 35 lbs is awesome!

Interesting thoughts....I've never seen any artificial sweeteners raise blood glucose levels and I've been a nurse for nearly 20 years and diabetes runs rampant in my family. I'll have to ask around the hospital but sounds bizarre to me.
