I am a 43 year old, stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher. I am a California native, but have lived in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma. I have two children ages 12 and 4. I am completely in love with my wonderful, supportive husband of 16 years. I am a Christ Follower and attempt to live out my faith in my daily life, not just once a week at church.
I love the outdoors but have become so overweight that I can no longer enjoy participating in outdoor activities. I want to take my children hiking, biking, swimming, horseback riding, camping, skiing.... all the things I got to do as a child. Hopefully, with the help of this website I can once again live my life to the fullest.

I think the amount recommended is so that you will lose 1 pound a week. You can change the RDI to take in less calories if you go to your tool box and click "my diet". It's near the bottom. Hope this helps.Very Happy
